Marc directed the construction of a primary health-care center, in Kumlika’s valley, about 6 hours away from Simikot and one hour away from Takla. This was highly requested by the population from near-by towns.

The inauguration of our medical and pharmaceutical center in Simikot finally took place on 8th March 2018. The act was attended by the director, the nursing staff, midwifes, the doctor from the public Hospital, the Mayor of Simikot, and Humla’s Regional Health Minister. Radio and newspaper journalists also covered the event.

Donations were received, such as medicine and small and medium medical equipment. These were transported to Simikot by Josep Cabrera, physiotherapist and promoter of the NPO Live Nepal. Cabrera accompanied Marc during several days, providing physical therapy in the area. Marta de Sagarra —nurse and Marc’s former high-school classmate— also stayed in Simikot for a while and accompanied Marc during medical appointments.

We started presenting the project in towns, entities, enterprises, and teaching centers. We did a total of 23 presentations, which were attended by 1217 persons. Locations: city councils of Olot, Santa Coloma de Farners, Blanes, Banyoles, and Besalú; Olot’s Hospital; Girona’s Auditorium; Centre Cultural de la Mercè with the Municipal School of Music (Girona); Rotary Club Olot and Rotary Club Banyoles; High Schools from Santa Coloma de Farners, Olot and Banyoles; Universitat de Girona (in every campus), Universitat de Barcelona, Campus Bellvitge and Hospital Clínic; the BdF company in Parc Científic de la UdG, and Plafurgell’s library.
